Philosophy of Giving
Jakes Restaurant Group Charitable Giving Program is committed to addressing the life challenges facing individuals and families in our community by giving to organizations that have a significant, positive impact on the local community. We like to partner with organizations that seek to improve the health, resources and overall well-being of our community and its members. Our STAR Award Program is founded on the same principles as our business. We strive to be a valued community partner that has a supportive, positive impact on our neighbors.

Description
Each Fiscal quarter a STAR Award recipient is chosen to receive an initial monetary gift in the amount of $500. In addition, the recipient will be featured on our STAR Award Bulletin Board in our restaurant for a full month. This will give your organization an opportunity to display brochures, flyers, photos and other written, appropriate material about your cause to the community we serve. During the STAR Award Month, 10% of all restaurant sales for each Thursday of that month will be donated to the STAR Award charity recipient. STAR Award recipients are encouraged to spread the word and promote each Thursday's fundraising event so as to maximize your STAR Award gift.

September 2007 marks the start of the STAR Awards Program at The Garret of Campbell. The program will be rolled out at other Jakes Restaurant Group locations in the coming months.

Giving Guidelines
The following guidelines outline our STAR Award Giving Program Criteria

Qualifying organizations should:

1. Be actively striving to improve and/or positively impact aspects of our local community.
2. Be able to demonstrate its ability to use our gift in a way to produce a positive outcome.
3. Not be discriminatory on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference, nor should the organization be based on a specific religion, fraternal, or veteran affiliation unless they benefit the community at large.
4. Be a small, local non-profit organization which has minimal administrative costs.
5. Have an IRS exemption letter verifying 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt status.

Application Process
At this time, local Campbell charities are invited to apply for STAR Awards at The Garret in Campbell. Please refer to The Garret Web site for application information: http://www.thegarret.com
